That and the dwindling player base meant finding a match was hard and so we stopped playing it too.īut while I do think DoW3 suffered from some Top-level bad decision making, the crew who had to do the hard work put out a good functioning (multiplayer) game. The thing is though, it's not my type of RTS and the skill ceiling seemed much higher than in CoH2 which means there are some really great (SC2) players who would whoop me and my friend's butts easily. I had some great fun online when the enemy team was on equal level with us, more or less. But I do think DoW3 was more misguided than a badly made game.įor what it was in the competitive multiplayer scene, I thought it was done quite well. Ok, the Singleplayer was complete garbage but most Relic campaigns are pretty badly designed save for Ardennes Assault and a few others (I suppose Homeworld 1-2 had some of the DoW1 expansions had good campaigns). I don't think DoW3 was a badly designed game. So with Relic announcing work on DoW3 has ended (probably's been like that for months), I think it's a good time to ask what things you liked from DoW3 and what ideas could possibly be expanded and brought into a third CoH game.
